We want to take the anxiety out of sailing. Most questions people have are answered below:
Is it dangerous?
Sailing the Columbia River is not dangerous as long as you pay attention and follow proper safety procedures. When the winds are too strong or river conditions are extreme, we don’t sail. At lot of our upriver events are reached by a slow comfortable cruise under motor.
Do I need a minimum sized boat?
No, if you can sail anything, you are welcome to join us. Many of our members have bought and sold boats among each other, trading up or down as they preferred.
Are the dues expensive?
Absolutely not. Unlike other yachting clubs, we try to do as much as possible with only $45 per year from each member boat.
