DESCRIPTION:Picnic on the Rock! Beacon Rock!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAre you ready for our next Adventure? Well here we go!!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs you know\, we usually break up our trip to Beacon Rock into 2 legs\, as it usually takes a good 8 hours to motor up the beautiful gorge to “The Rock”\, so…..\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday July 20th\nSome of you know our good friends Tannis Mittlebach and Kim Vine (from the Ladies Cruise) who are members of a Neighborhood Association that own a “Private Dock” west of the Camas Marina. They have graciously offered for us to tie up Friday night at their docks! \nKim is planning a Friday evening (about 7pm) get-together for us at her beautiful home overlooking the Columbia\, and Tannis would like to fix us up some “Vittles” Saturday morning before we take off for Beacon Rock. \nSince the dock is privately owned\, we will need to provide proof of insurance in the unlikely event of dock damage. Prior to Arrival\, Please e-mail Steph directly at sunshadebd@gmail.com with a picture of your insurance card. \nThe other option for overnight moorage is at Camas Marina which is within walking distance of Kim and Tannis’ home. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday July 21st\nBreakfast at Tannis’ house\nTake off for Beacon Rock\nLawn games on shore\,\nHiking up Beacon rock\nSaturday night Potluck….Picnic theme \nBeacon Rock is a Washington State Park and requires moorage fees which are 70 cents per foot ($15 minimum) per night. Electricity is $6/night.\nDinghies will be available for those who would like to anchor (no charge). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday July 22nd\nSignature Potluck breakfast\nHead back…or not! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to RSVP to sunshadebd@gmail.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour host for this cruise is Steph Walker of Wildheart. SUMMARY:Back to Sand Island 2018
DESCRIPTION:There’s plenty of time to plan for a River Explorer’s Dream Cruise!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour hosts\, Scott Stevenson of La Dolce Vita and Steve Weir of The Dew Drop Inn\, are busy preparing to lead you on a downriver exploration that will kick off your summer with a sailing adventure to the mouth of the mighty Columbia.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2018 CRSA Downriver Exploration! June 22 – July 1\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday/Saturday June 22/23 – St Helens City Docks\nHere we begin our cruise and everyone who is going should meet there. All are welcome to join us for just the weekend at St. Helens and give us a mighty sendoff on..\nSunday\, June 24 – As we cast off for Walker Island. Walker Island is a free standing dock (no shore access) so just in case\, be prepared to anchor here. \nMonday\, June 25 – Continue downriver to Cathlamet on the Washington side of the Columbia. Enjoy this quaint little town with an excellent little grocery for restocking. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTuesday\, June 26/27 – We continue our adventures in anchoring with a Detour into the Delta. Relax and enjoy the quiet as we mosey through this seldom explored area with our experienced guide. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, June 28 – Astoria! Gateway to the Pacific Ocean. Ride the trolly\, take in the Riverwalk sights\, get fresh tuna fish ‘n chips at Bowpicker. \nFriday\, June 29 – Venture out across the bar\, possibly a night in Ilwaco or\, if you need to\, head back upriver. \nSaturday\, June 30 – Heading back upriver\, hopefully with one of those great winds at our back. \nSunday\, July 1 – Back to PDX \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile the itinerary is going to be pretty much what is listed above\, the schedule is fairly loose\, depending on what the CRSA Explorer Fleet would like to do. For example\, our hardy river explorers may decide they want to skip the CR Delta and proceed directly to Astoria or Ilwaco – not to worry\, the rest of us will catch up. Others may only have enough time to make it to Cathlamet and then return home. This is a leisurely cruise – the CRSA Explorer Fleet participants may hop in/out as they please. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnd some of us might choose to stay in St Helens to watch the fireworks on the 4th before heading home. Any way you want to chart your course is fine with us.\nOur theme is “Explore”and that’s what we plan to do on this Exploration Cruise of the lower Columbia River!

This is a leisurely cruise – the CRSA Explorer Flleet participants may hop in/out as they please.
